Third-party testing means an independent, accredited laboratory — separate from whoever sells the material — runs the analysis and issues the report. It contrasts with in-house testing, where the seller grades its own product and the result cannot be independently trusted.
How it works
An independent lab receives a sample, runs standardized identity and purity methods, and issues a certificate tied to that batch. Accreditation (for example to ISO/IEC 17025) and a verifiable report — sometimes hosted on the lab's own portal — let a buyer confirm the document is genuine rather than fabricated.
What the evidence shows
The principle that independent verification beats self-reporting is foundational across testing and standards bodies.
